Line Friends Hollywood

In May 2019, Ironwood Electric completed a tenant improvement project for the wildly-popular Line Friends Corporation on the Hollywood Boulevard Walk of Fame.

The company sells clothing, accessories, stuffed animals and more based on cutesy characters featured in the Line messaging app, which is wildly popular in Japan, Thailand, Taiwan and South Korea. For the unitiated, the product design might draw comparison to Hello Kitty.

The Hollywood store is Line Friends’ second U.S. location. The first was built in Times Square.

Even weeks after opening, the line to enter the store stretched around the block on Hollywood Boulevard.

Patrons shifted and fidgeted on the star-clad Walk of Fame tiles as they waited for their chance to enter and purchase cutesy (and fairly pricey) stickers, stuffed animals, and clothing. A bouncer waited outside checking visitors in as if it we’re a Saturday night at a popular night club down the way on Sunset.

The space includes a simple but effective lighting package. Track lighting system provides general and directed lighting for the store floor, and receptacles power integrated shelf lighting.

The prominent location and brand, and tight schedule make Line Friends a showcase for Ironwood Electric’s ability to deliver an excellent project on time for our customers.
